RNZ: ReliefAid’s Mike Seawright speaks to Rosie Gordon about Kiwis working in Ukraine

ReliefAid’s Founder and Executive Director Mike Seawright spoke to RNZ’s Rosie Gordon about what it is like being a Kiwi working in Ukraine, and what he thinks people should be aware of before making the decision to enter a war zone.

“I’ve been working in war zones for . . . almost a couple of decades, and I’ve not seen the level of destruction that I’ve seen in Ukraine. We’ve got whole villages, whole neighbourhoods, completely levelled . . . I’d be very careful in terms of making any decision to go to Ukraine, I would certainly expect anyone who does to have the experience necessary to operate in a very difficult and dangerous environment.”
