ReliefAid’s Anne Bulley spoke to the Beacon about the organisation’s work in Ukraine, delivering “food, medical supplies and shelter aid, such as mattresses and blankets, tool kits for repairing buildings, water containers as a lot of the services are out, and solar lamps for lighting and cellphone charging”. She also pointed out that when particularly hard hit places like Bucha became accessible, “we were some of the first aid going in to get food to those areas”. Iryna Riazantseva Collis, who grew up in Ukraine and has volunteered in Romania, Paris and New Zealand to help Ukrainians, expressed her thanks for the support New Zealander’s have shown so far; “I just have no words to say thank you”.
